on Thursday we head out on our vacation to the Tetons! I am excited! I think no one is more excited than Alex though he has had a count down for a while! This is really our only vacation this summer. We are going to idaho for matt's wedding in july but we wont really be doing much sight seeing that will mostly be just get up there do wedding stuff and come home! It should be fun though anyway! I have never traveled for a wedding before!=0) We have a lot planned though anyway for the summer just around town! We want to take a trip to the zoo and go to Kennecott for a tour! Hopefully we can get in a few trips to the pool too! Then we have holidays and birthdays in july! For the holiday's i am making paige a dress! I am really excited about it! It is the cutest fabric! I am really excited for brett's birthday he turns 30 this year! He really doesn't want a party but i have something else planed. I don't think he like it either but i think he'll hate it less than a party! I don't think he's to excited to be 30! That's pretty much our whole summer in a nutshell! :)

Today is Alex's birthday he is 6 years old! I can't believe how fast time goes by! I feel like it was just yesterday that he was born! He is the sweetest kid that i know he takes such good care of his siblings i love to just sit and watch him be the best big brother in the world! We have had a lot of fun today even though it hasn't been the best weather. For his birthday he got some water balloons and sidewalk chalk and a new scooter! The weather was nice for enough time today to ride his scooter and play with a few water balloons but when he went to try out the sidewalk chalk it started to rain so he had to come in! On Wednesday we are going to have cake and icecream with grandparents and then Friday we will be having a party with his friends! He has been really excited about the party!

Last friday alex graduated from kindergarten! It was so much fun! they did a really cute program! After we went to mc donalds for lunch and then we went bowling. Alex really liked bowling. He did pretty well too! Paige lost intrest about half way through the first game. We also played some of the arcade games they have there! Then we went to Check out the new JoAnn's store and discovered that it's not really a fun place for kids but i did get some super cute fabric to make paige dress for the 4th of july! Then we went to home depot and got a push mower (something we should have gotten 6 years ago when we first moved in) Then Brett and I we exhausted.

These last few months have been very busy and have worn both Brett and me out! It has been fun though. Alex has been playing T-ball again this year his team is the orioles. It has been a lot of fun to watch his games! Next year he will be able to do machine pitch.

We have so much planned for this summer i am so excited!

our baby is here and he is adorable! He came on tuesday morning at 4:44 a.m. He weighed 7lbs. 9oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long! After he was born he was trouble breathing. at first the doctors thought it might be some amniotic fluid in his lungs but then they looked at the x ray and found some air inbetween the inner lining and outer wall of his lungs they call this pneumothorax! This can cause the lung to colapse! To get the air out they had to put a tube in and just suck it out! The dr.s decided that it would be best if he was under close watch by a neonatologist just in case more air got in! sooo, he had to be life flighted to primary children's hospital! He had to have an oxygen because it was making it hard to breath because he could not expand his lungs fully! They put an iv in to give him some fluids and medicine just in case of infection! By wed. morning they were able to take the tube out and he was moved from The NICU to the Infant unit! We were able to stay with him there! On thursday they told us he was doing well enough to come home!!! We are so grateful to have our little boy here safe and sound! There are so many people who helped us in this hard time and we are thankful for the gospel that it has given us the priesthood! We will get pics up soon!

kindergarten

Alex starts kindergarten on Tuesday! I am just a total mess about the whole thing! Alex is so excited though we have even been marking the days on the calendar! On Tuesday he had his assessment and they said that he did good! our neighbors were able to see the class list for their son on Tuesday and we found out that him and alex will be in the same class! His teacher will be Mrs. g. that is what she is called because she has a hard last name and i can't even remember it! They will post official class lists today! I am curious to see who else is in his class! If there is any that were on his baseball team! On monday they do a kindergarten tea party where they get to meet there teachers and parents come too! Then tuesday is the big day! Yesterday we went school shopping and discovered that we should have probably gone a lot earlier! Almost all the stores were cleaned out in his size it was so hard to find him a nice shirt for the first day of school. Although we did end up with 4 outfits when we only intended on one! He also got an outfit from his grandparents! He also got a haircut yesterday! I told Brett i was just going to tell them to give him a missionary haircut! Brett thought that was funny! I don't get it! but Alex looks good! He is definatly ready for school to start! Alex will be afternoon kindergarten because that's when the bus comes! I know that everything will be fine but that doesn't make any of this any easier!

Well since i haven't written in our blog for quite a while and i haven't yet announced this I thought now was a good time! We had the ultrasound yesterday and we found out that we're having a BOY!!! I am so excited! I am due on November 23,2010! That is two day's before thankgiving! Things have been going pretty well! here are some ultrasound pics!

hi! i decided to change our blog from st. patricks theme early because i was getting tired of all the green so i made one that has some green in it and also helps to celebrate our anniversary! The temple on there is the Jordan river temple which is the temple we got married in! Our anniversary is on the 19th so it's pretty close to the holiday! I think this works well for both!

Yesterday was a very interesting day for us! When i got to church we only had one kid in our class! he ussually cries but this time he didn't i was so glald! Then we were just siting there listening to all the talks and stuff and he turns to me and shows me this little bit of skin on the top of his finger that was coming up a little! It didn't look sore just like it would maybe catch on something! He says to me as he is showing me "i think i need to go to the doctor!" i told him that i thought that he would be okay without going to the doctor! Then he proceeded to tell me that he needed the doctor to give him a shot for it! I thought it was so funny! I love teaching the sunbeams! they say the cutest things!

Earlier that morning before church brett went to pec meeting and the bishop asked them to join the ward choir! Our ward is in desperate need of male voices in the choir! So brett joined the choir! I would have liked to go as well but they meet at three and that is right during paiges nap time so just brett went! Our ward now has a total of 5 men in the choir! Brett is very excited to be in the choir!

we signed alex up for baseball last week! I am really excited for him to play! he will be in tee ball! i think it is so much fun to watch these little kids running around playing ball! our neighbor is coaching and so we are going to request him! We would have requested him at the time we signed him up but we didn't know he was going to be a coach then! I think it would be fun if he got on that team because he plays with that neighbor's son a lot! The games start in April! We don't have a schedule of when the games will be yet because they need to get the teams assigned first! They said we should hear from the coaches by about the middle of march! I don't know if alex other friend that they play with is going to play baseball but if he does that would be so cool if they got all on the same team!

In other news for our family, we got our washer and dryer! They are whirlpool and they are really nice! They look fairly new! It has on it accuwash, which keep the water at a certain temperature so the clothes will get clean better, and the dryer has accudry, which sends a little sensor through the dryer to detect any moisture! and we got them both for only $400 i think that is an amazing deal! They really work great and i am glad that we were able to finally have a good set and they match! I think we got most of the features that we were looking for in a washer and dryer! The only thing we would have liked is the low agitator in the washer but that is a pretty new feature in washers so i kind of didn't expect to get one with it! I don't think we would have got one with it even if we got a brand new one! i was ready to compromise on most of the features we wanted so I'm glad that i didn't have to give up very much!

We also got an ipod! We got the one Brett wanted! it's an ipod touch! It's a lot of fun but we only have two songs on there so far!

Today is alex's doctors appointment for his kindergarten checkup! I am a little nervous about it! I hope that this appointment will help calm a few of my nerves! I think that another thing that will help is when we go in and register him! i think the rest of my nerves will just have to be worked out in time! Like when he actually goes to school in the fall! Wow just saying that gets my stomach all tied up in knots! After his appointment we are going down to the health department to get his birth certificate! Then we are going to get a strong box to keep it in!

wow a lot has happened in the new year and most of it wasn't really what we wanted! But I know that it is how things are supposed to be!

For valentines day weekend we went to my brother's house in st. george to help him get his life back in order! My dad was there already he came with Matt and then we followed my mom and my cousin Chelsea We had a pretty nice weekend the only problem was that i think we may have gotten spring fever! :( then we had to come back home to this stinky cold weather! and it really was stinky! there was a smell coming from the salt lake when we got off the freeway!:P it was yucky but luckily we couldn't smell it from our house! I had a lot of fun going to the outlet stores! I found one of those things that you put olive oil in that's really cute! It's hand painted with sunflowers! it doesn't really match my kitchen but neither did the other ones and i have been wanting one of those for a really long time! It's a smaller one but i think it will be good for our needs and now i don't need to choose the olive oil i buy based on the container it's in! And it was only 5 bucks! :) I have already got my oil in it! Anyways! On valentines day we had a bbq! We has steaks and fish! Melissa's friend Bonnie Kay came for dinner! It was really a nice dinner and it was really yummy! We had strawberry shortcake for dessert! It was really good!

On Friday we got our tax money! I am so excited because we are going to get a washer and dryer! things will be so much easier once we get it! We are going to get a refurbished washer and dryer from a place called best appliance! We also will start potty training once we get it because that will make potty training so much easier!

Next week is kindergarten registration! I am so nervous! There is so much we need to do for it! We have a dr. appointment scheduled for next tue. at 3 and we still have to get his birth certificate! I just don't feel ready for him to go! I know that he is but it's just that i'm not ready! It's kindof like when it was getting close to the due date and i just wanted a little more time to get ready but un like this i wanted the baby out! With this i would rather he just start going back and be my sweet little baby boy! I just don't want him to grow up, i want him to be a toys r us kid, just kidding! It is kind of exciting though but i still have a lot of questions! This will also put a lot more responsibility on my part as well! I will have to make sure he gets up and gets off to school i will have to make sure he is getting his school work done! I will have let go and hope that i have taught him well enough that he will be respectful to his teachers a peers! There is a lot of pressure with going to kindergarten, luckily it's on the parents and not on the children! Alex is so excited to go to school! I hope that he will continue to enjoy school! Also this spring we are going to get him signed up for T-ball! I am really excited for that! It is so much fun to watch those little kids out there playing! If you are low on entertainment and really need to get out go find a local t-ball game! I've also heard that this little ones in soccer are great for that too! :)

Well that's all for us for now i think! I don't think things will be slowing down anytime soon for us so i guess we will just have to get used to this new busy lifestyle we have! I think it just comes with the kids! I'm sure after a while we will get used to it and it will feel like we slowed down and then something else will be added to make us busy again! Judging from my parents things don't ever slow down they just get busier and you just have to learn how to manage your time!

i would just like to say thank you to all those who prayed for my sister in law and my brother and their daughter dayna! Prayers help so much! Thank you also for the prayers for my family and helping us to get through this difficult time in our lives! I know that things will still be hard especially through out this next year, but i know that with the Lord's help we will be able to make it through and that one day we will be with melissa again and that she is happy where she is and is doing great things! Everyone who reads this please pray for my sister in law melissa . Matthew my brother has been staying at the hospital day and night. Anyone reading this that doesn't know what happened Melissa was in a terrible accident in their Expedition early Monday morning near the utah arizona border.

They, Melissa and Dayna her daughter were on their way to take their 17 year old foreign exchange student to Las Vegas to the Airport when Melissa over corrected and rolled over two lanes and landed on the drivers side of the vehical.

Melissa was life flighted to IMC on 5300 S. and taken into surgery immediately due to the massive head trauma. Dayna was hanging by her seat belt and Niko, the foreign exchange student helped her out of her seat belt. They survived with only bruises and scratches. Melissa is in critical condition and needs everyones prayers. Thank you all and May God Bless you also.

Well thanksgiving went well! Even though all we made was rice crispy's that didn't even get put out! On Friday we went to Wal-mart! It was okay but the little coats that i wanted to get paige they didn't even have any before the sale even started because they never got the shipment in and it took forever to find an employee who knew why they weren't there! We got our Christmas stuff out later that night and we set up our tree and put the lights on and the garland and that was as far as we got then it took us clear until today to get the rest of our Christmas stuff out and all set up! All we have to do now is get presents and go to all the various parties that we have next week we have a party on Friday and then 3 on Saturday!!! Then the next one that i for sure know when is will be on the 26 and that will be with my brother's and sisters! There is two on brett's side that i am not sure when they will be yet but we will see i guess! Brett's sister Hollie usually does something on Christmas eve at her house and we usually go up there! I think that most of our shopping that needs to be done we are going to try to go in to salt lake and get it done because there is only so much you can do at wal-mart and we are really tired of going there! We will probably take the kids into salt lake one day to see the lights and all the things going on in there! I would like to go to Christmas Street again this year but we will see how things go! We definatly will stay busy but i think most of it will be fun! hopefully we can get all our shopping done in one trip! That's the goal! On sunday we will be going to Seth and Jessica's daughter Serephim's blessing, then after the blessing we will go up to spanish fork for a family fireside that my grandma meldrum does every fast sunday! It is supposed to be a special christmas one! Cassi and I are going to have our kids sing picture a christmas for it! and any of my other sister's that come can have there kids sing to! All i know is that it will for sure be my kids, well probably just alex and cassi's kids! Merry Christmas everyone!

Today was alex's first primary program! He did really well! We are so proud of him! He got up and said his part so loud! He even memorized it! He knew a little bit of each song but the song they did the best with was a family is of god! I love that song it has a really fun tune and it is fun to sing but it made me cry during the program!:( oh well! Through the parts of the songs he didn't know he just would open and close his mouth to make it look like he was singing! I couldn't see him though becasue I was sitting on the other side with my class! He ended up sitting by his friend so they were talking and being goofy almost through the whole thing! Most of the sunbeams were being silly and having a hard time sitting still! It was a fun day and i was happy to see that he wasn't too shy to get up and so the program! We have been trying to encourage him to be a little more outgoing in primary by raising his hand for questions and volunteering when they need someone! I think he has come a long way! Hopefully this will help him to not be shy in school! After church my parents came over for dinner! We played a couple games and then they went home! Brett's parents were going to stay but then his sister was having a birthday party for our nephew in park city and so they just decided they better get down there for that so they don't get home to late! I think that things went well! I am so happy that alex had a fun day as well even though i didn't get to buy him a new outfit like i wanted to but oh well i will get one for thanksgiving soon enough and i will be able to buy one for paige to so double the fun!

update on the flu

Well Paige is doing a lot better now than she was just a few days ago she has only coughed when she wakes up yesterday and this morning nothing throughout the night and nothing during the rest of the day! I think it's very exciting because i have been starting to feel like a hermit staying inside all the time! Alex still has a cough but that's all he has had! We will probably still stay in for a few more days just to make sure things don't get worse and to make sure she is completely better! then when we do start going out i think we will probably just be going over to some one elses house or something or to the store! I have been pretty impressed with how well she has done with this because alex got the type a flu a couple years back and he was really sick he had it all and was down and out for a like three days with really high fevers! When we got him to the doctor his temp. was 105! it was crazy high! Paige's highest temp was 100.8! We probably wouldn't have even taken her to the doctor if the swine flu wasn't going around! But we thought we should get her checked out! It's always better to be safe than sorry! Esspecially when it comes to your kids! I would definatly rather take them in to see the doctor and them tell me everything is fine than to have all the worry about whats wrong and end up with aner visit or worse! I am so glad that she is on the road to getting better i think i will still worry for a while and i still need to watch her to make sure she doesn't get that infection from it so we are still watching her very closely! We are watching alex too because he has had a cough but so far that is the only symptom he has had so i think that he is okay for right now! In other news my best friend Jessica had her first baby on October 30th at 6 am they had a baby girl who weighed 7 lbs 7 oz (that's the same as alex!!!) and was 20 inches long they named her seraphim (it's a bible name) and i can't remember the middle name but i know it is russian! It was i think her birth mom's name or middle name i can't remember! I am so happy for her i think it is so exciting! I want to go see the baby so bad but i don't think it's a good idea right now because of poor little paigey right now! I would hate to be the one responsible for someone getting sick esspecially a new little baby! I am so happy for Jessica and her husband i know they will be wonderful parents and will be the cutest little family!

The flu: type A

Well Paige has the flu! It is type A! When they said that my first thought was " oh good it's not h1n1" Then they said that h1n1 is a strain of the type a flu and that she probably has that strain! So i thought that there were 3 types of flu but still there is only two! I don't think that she has it to bad because a couple of years ago alex had type a flu and he was A LOT worse than she is! This puts a huge damper on our halloween plans! She may or may not be feeling well enough to go out on sat. If she's not i think i will still dress her up anyways and take her picture! We will still be able to do some things like paint pumpkins and decorate cookies just no parties! They said that it is highly contagious so keep her away from other children! We will need to watch her close to make sure it doesn't get any worse because the flu can cause her to get a bacterial infection that would need to be treated with anitbiotics! So i think if we just keep a close eye on her and keep her indoors we will be fine! We already have been staying indoors for the most part and we kept both kids home sunday so i don't think that we have been spreading it really to much! The only thing that i am really too concerned about now is Alex getting sick he had a cough last week but hasn't really coughed much since last week so i will just watch him and his symptoms and make sure everything is going okay! Well that's really all the news for now i hope that paige will do better at least to go trick or treating around our neighbor hood! We'll see!

first day in nursery

Well yesterday was paige's first day of nursery! I think she did pretty well! When we first got thier she was really clingy to me and so i took her in a little further and showed her a little toy and she just kind of looked at it and then i just said good bye and left and she didn't cry at all and then between classes i looked in the little window to see how she was doing and she was sitting there and smiling at one of the teachers so i think she will do pretty well in nursery! I was a little nervous that she wouldn't do very well and would be crying the whole time! With paige i knew that it could go both ways because of her personality and i think we ended up with the best case scenario! It was a very busy Sunday for us so i was relieved!

Well we have the kids Halloween costumes Paige is still going to be a lady bug but we had such a difficult time finding a cute lady bug costume that didn't cost $20 or more we decided just to go for making our own! I think it will work out pretty well she has a red shirt already and so we got her some black sweats and a black jacket and then we got so of that material like what you put under a skirt like! I have noticed that a lot of people have been making like little toutou's out of it so i thought that would make a cute lady bug skirt but to buy on already make was like at least $12 so we went and looked at the fabric and it was only .77 cents a yard!!! I was shocked there was no way i was going to pass that up so we got some! Those people making those little toutou's are making a bundle on them i couldn't believe it! For the little antenna's we are just going to fix her hair into two pigtails right on top and then spray her hair with the black spray! We don't have wings yet but i think we can just get a wire hanger and some nylons and some black paint for the dot's We just have to find the wire hangers and then wal-mart has some knee highs for .33 cents and i have paint so i think everything will workout well for her!

Alex decided that he didn't want to be batman anymore and we went through an array of other ideas and then at wal-mart we were looking for stuff to piece together alex a costume too! Then we saw some football jerseys and i asked him if he wanted to be a football player and his face just lit up he was so excited so that's what he is going to be! It was the only thing he got this excited about! so he picked out the color of jersey he wanted and we got him some sweat pants and we have a long sleeve shirt already that will look good underneath and then all were going to do is get some black make-up and put the lines under his face! I think I'm more excited about him being a football player than batman!

As for brett and me we still don't have anything for us for halloween but i'm not really to concerned with that!

the holidays

i am so excited for this i feel like these last two months we kind of got a little break for our family from all the business july brought! Now it's time to get in full swing again with the holidays! I love being busy! First up halloween which i love because i get to dress the kids up it's so much fun i get to go shopping and be creative and it's like my kids are part of my decorations =) i love dressing them up for all occasions i think my absolute favorite is thanksgiving it's like a great big dinner party that the whole country is having all at the same time! For halloween paige is going to be a lady bug and alex is going to be batman and his cousin emily i think is going to be catwomen! sweet! We'll have to get their pictures if it all works out! I am way excited! Brett and I don't ussually dress up but i think that i might get some of those little head band things that are cute and wear i don't know what brett will do! This year we let alex pick his own costume and he only mentioned superhero's before he decided on batman! So far he has stayed with his decision! Now all that's left to do is to get the costumes!

Well now all our vacations are over! Our last one was a lot of fun! We went to Capitol Reef for a family reunion! It was really cool to see! The reunion was fun too! Where we stayed they had a swimming pool! Alex loved playing in the pool, but Paige absoulutly hated it! Brett and I got a little burned but the kids didn't at all thankfully, because we forgot to put sunscreen on! Also some people in my family brought up some 4 wheelers and Brett and I took a ride on them! It was a lot of fun! We took a ride up to some red rocks and we got some really cool pics there! We all had a lot of fun! I still haven't got the pictures downloaded yet i think i will try and get that done today and i will try and post pictures from all our vacations soon! It's kind of nice to kind of get a break from just going all the time! It will be fun just to stay home and do a few one day adventures! I kind of would like to make it out to the zoo this month! we had a great day yesterday for pioneer day! We went down to Spanish Fork for the parade it was fun! Before we left for the parade alex said he wanted to play the drums in the parade! ;) Alex had a lot of fun running out and collecting candy! Paige really got into it she was waving and clapping and pointing and telling everyone about it! She took candy to anyone who would open it for her! Both kids were very sticky by the end of the parade! They had so much fun! Then we went to macey's to get out of the heat for a while and at the front of the store they had the float that was in the parade and Alex really thought that was cool! Then we went to my Aunt Paula's house and had a BBQ! It was really yummy, they had homemade root beer! Then we started to make our way home! We decided to stop at Cabella's on the way home! Both the kids really liked it they had a lot of fun looking at everything! Paige even found herself a little friend! When we got back to tooele we went to the children's parade two of our nephew's were playing in the tooele jr. band! They sounded really good! After the parade they have some fun stuff to do at the park! We only did one of the activities because the lines we so long! Then we came home and and we did some fireworks just the ground flowers and some sparklers and the little poppers paige really liked the sparklers and alex liked it all but he wanted some bigger ones! oh well! It was a really fun day! But we forgot to get batteries for our camera so no pictures!:(

wow a lot has happened since this month we have been so busy! At the first of the month we went to the dinosaur park in Ogden and then went camping up at Anderson cove and had a family reunion up there! That was all one trip and it was a lot of fun! At the dinosaur park alex was afraid of the mechanical dinosaurs even after i told him they were just like a remote control car he didn't want any of us getting close to them! He screamed when i was making him get close to see them! He didn't even like the little baby ones! He like the dinosaurs that were out side that didn't move though! On the fourth of july brett had to work but i took the kids over to the benson mill for our stakes annual community pancake breakfast! They ussually fo a little children's parade but we didn't make it in time for that! Then when brett got home we went up to Hollie's house for a BBQ it was a lot of fun! After that we went to Brett's parents house and did a few fireworks and then had a rootbeer float! Brett's mom was watching Angies kids so Jacob and Alex had a lot of fun playing with each other! On our way home we stopped on the side of the road and watched the fireworks from desert peak but wemade the mistake of openeing the windows and let in a whole bunch a mosquitos! Which we then spent about half the firework show trying to kill! It was a really a fun day! The next thing in our adventurous month was my birthday! We took the kids to my parents house and we went to wingers for dinner! It was really yummy and it was a nice break from the kid's! Then we had inspection in which we had to clean our house from top to bottom! I don't think i have ever done spring cleaning in july until now! I hate inspections! The only thing happy that came out of inspection was i finally remembered where the "safe place" I put my wedding ring was!!! For some dumb reason i thought a box of notes from high school was a safe place! I should get a break though for this because i was pregnant when i put it there! Which is probably another reason why i thought that was a safe place and why i couldn't remember where it was! I now fully remember putting it there and i have no idea why i thought that was a safe place. Next thing we did was brett had a day with the kids and i got to hang out with my friends! It was a lot of fun we had a picnic at heritage park! Then we went to temple square and planned jessica's baby shower! Then we watched the Joseph Smith movie! then we went to drea's parents house and played apples to apples! I love that game it is so much fun! Then it was pretty late so we went home! i had a lot of fun! Next, Blake was in town so we went over to his parents house and had a BBQ and played soccer! It reminded me of when me and brett first knew each other because that's the kind of stuff we did and that's who we did it with and it was on the day we met 6 years ago it was awesome! On the 15th was brett's birthday we went out to applebee's for dinner! We had a gift card for there! It was okay but i don't think we will be going to applebee's anytime soon! Next in our outings we had my family's annual family camp which is actually the Clayson reunion which this year was the last year they were doing it! We are still going to do a family camp with my aunts and uncles and stuff but not with my mom's aunt's! alex went up on Sunday with my mom! We went up on Thursday and stay till Saturday! It was fun! until Paige got sick that was not fun it was gross! She threw up three times on Saturday! Then we went to our ward BBQ! I made a pasta salad! It was really yummy! then we rented a movie! We rented he's just not that into you! I didn't really care to much for it and it was done a lot differently than either brett or I expected! Oh and also this month brett had to teach the adult gospel doctrine class=) i don't know how well he did because I'm in primary so i wasn't able to see how well he did but from what he says things went really well! He taught twice! Well now here we are coming to the end of July and we are still not done yet! On thursday i go to the dentist- just for a check up! Then on friday is pioneer day and i think we are going to spanish fork! then on the 29th we are leaving to go down to capital reef for yet another family reunion! This will definatly be a july to remember!

Well it's been a little while but Alex went to the doctor and he has made it to the 50 % mark in his weight for the first time in his life!!!!=) We were so happy! They also weighed paige and she was 16.4 thanks to soy milk! Well not a whole lot to talk about but i was just so excited that he made it to be average! The last time he was average was when he was born! (he weighed 7.7) Well anyways that's all for now see y'all later!!!!!!

i know it's been about a week and a 1/2 since his birthday but oh well! He had a really fun birthday He said he wanted a baseball party so we made the invitations as a baseball theme:

Anyway we made his cake to look like a base ball field and had little twinkie bites to look like base balls! It was really cute! Then we played kick ball! It was a lot of fun! Alex said that was his favorite part of his birthday! Then we opened presents he got three different base ball bats and balls one of them came with a tee and one of them had a thing around it to tell you where to hit the ball! he has had a lot of fun playing with all of them! He also got a baseball shaped pillow! He thinks that is way cool! He got about three books also one was a really cute pop up book! And he got clothes! Here is him in his cute birthday clothes! Last sunday alex gave a talk in primary! He did really well! He did a lot better than i had expected! When he had given prayers he just stands there and wiggles and mummbles! When they call his name in primary he usually gets really shy and doesn't want to go up! So when it was his turn to get up and give his talk he got right up to the stand i was so proud of him! I told him to talk loud so people could hear him and i gave him a picture to hold and he didn't squirm once! Brett came in and watched and said that you could hear him pretty good! I was so happy that he did really well! That's all that really has been going on since mother's, except alex's birthday which was a lot of fun we will put pics up later! Well that's all for now!

this year mothers day was wonderful! We were able to spend time with both of our mothers on mothers day! Brett got me some very pretty Easter lilies, and a little herb garden that you keep inside your house, and a cute church bag, and the kids gave me some peach ice cream and it was really yummy! I was so excited for church I love it when the primary kids get up to sing! I was extra excited this year because it was Alex's first time to sing with them! He didn't want to go up there tough so brett had to take him up there, then one of the people in the primary presidency helped him to get closer to the front! He looked so cute just standing there! About 1/2 way through the song he his his face behind the kid he was standing by! He's just so shy sometimes! He wouldn't sing but I was just glad that he stayed up there the whole time! He was so cute up there! I guess for father's day i will just plan on taking him up there! Then the next speaker got up and and asked if any of the men were planning on cooking dinner for any of thier wives and brett raised his hand and said "I guess I am now!" I laughed because we had already planned to go over to his mom's house to eat! And it was already cooked when we got there anyways! So I told him he should cook us dinner tonight since we were gone on mothers day! I don't know if he will or not but i just thought it was funny he raised his hand! After church was over they gave everyone a flower i got a yellow daisy! Well i hope that everyone else had a good mothers day also! And happy late mothers day to all the mothers out there!

Well yesterday we took paige for her one year check up and things went pretty okay she is still way under weight so to try and get her wieght up we will be mixing the carnation breakfast shake mix with her milk and if that doesn't help then we will start her on some pediasure! He said he wanted to do it that way because the carnation stuff is a lot cheaper! Also she throws up about every 5-6 days we had been mixing the whole milk with the formula to get her tummy used to the regular milk! The doctor said just to try the straight milk and if she still has a problem then to switch to soy milk! so hopefully all of this will work out good! I gave her the whole milk this morning and so far she's been okay! Everything else was fine though so no perscriptions or anything! yeah!

yesterday was paige's first birthday! We had a party with just brett's family and then on saturday we will do another one with my family! Things went pretty well she had a lot of fun! I will probably put pictures up later after saturdays party! she really liked the cake she didn't even hesitated to dig in in fact she didn't want to blow out the cdandle she just wanted to grab the cake! She ate the whole thing! Her favorite presents were the books she absolutly loves books! she thought the clothes got in the way of her reading! Well after the party she threw up all that cake! she ended up throwing up about four times each time there was less! I think she throws up way more than a little baby her age should so i am going to talk to the doctor about it it she has her check up today! on saturday i am definatly making a smaller cake! i sure hope that she can handle it better!

Well we had a wonderful anniversary! we had our candle light dinner on thursday night! it was fun! Then on friday we went up to park city! We went to a few of the outlet stores and got our kids their easter outfitsthey are very cute and they match so i think it will be fun! then we went down historic main street! We felt very out of place because of all the rich people! further up main street were some very cool colorful houses! some of them were for sale so we got a flyer for one of them it was $1.7 million!!! we thought it would be cool if we inherit one of those houses but there is no way we would ever spend that much on a house! that's crazy! after we got back we learned that that was the street that my grandma meldrum was born on! After we went to park city we went to heber city just because! All we did there was drive down main street! It reminded me of Spanish Fork! Then we headed back to salt lake area and we were going to go bowling butthe bowling alley we went to was full and there was a 45 minute to an hour wait! So we went to hollywood connections and went miniature golfing instead! it was a lot of fun but i don't think were very good! Our balls kept getting off the course and we nbever got a hole in one! then we went to a restraunt called mimi's cafe it's really cute it's by fashion place mall! We really liked our dinner Then after that we went to murray park and walked around for a little while! but right now brett is reading a scary book and so he was afraid to be in the park so we didn't stay very long and it was kind of cold! After that we made our way home! At maceys and wal-mart they were both having twilight parties so we decided to see what was going on and we wanted to see if we could rent twilight at midnight from the redbox really we would have tested it with any movie just twilight was the one we had the opportunity to try it with! And it worked so if you ever want to rent a brand new movie and it is being relesed at midnight you can get it from the redbox! And we wern't the only ones we saw someone else with one! Then when we got home we actually stayed up and watched it i still don't know why we thought that was a good idea! but we didn't get to bed until around 3:00 that was just crazy! anyways as far as twilight goes i thought it was an okay movie so my question is what in the world is all the fuss about because it wasn't as good to me and brett as everyone made it out to be! i'm not saying it wasn't good it just wasn't the movie of the century like everyone is making it out to be!!! Well then saturday we didn't do anything! We just pretty much slept! here are some pics and that's about all!

i am so excited we finally got our new car i took us quite a while but now we don't have to worry about it any more!!! We got a chevy malibu it is kind of a grayish blueish color and sometimes it looks a little greenish it just depends on the lighting! We really like it! We get on star free for the first year so it is very fun to play with! it will give us turn by turn directions to pretty much anywhere we want to go and it sends us e-mails telling us when we need an oil change and how much air is in our tires and if there is anything else wrong with it! it tells us how many mpg we get on average and at any sepcific instance! and it tells us the name of the artist and song that is playing on the radio! We also get xm satillite radio for 90 days! and the windo locks only lock the back windows! And all this is the standard features crazy huh! We also have a car phone! it is connected to onstar and it is basically just a prepaid phone but if we had verizon we would be able to connect it to is somehow and use the verizon plan minutes but we don't have a cell phone so basically we just have a prepaid phone and we can add minustes from the car if we need to!!! It is such a huge relief that we don't have to deal with car problems anymore! It was kind of disappointing that we had to get a new car because we were really looking forward to being out of debt! But we have a plan to get this car paid off as quickly as possible! So hopefully we are able to be debt free soon! Really this car payment is the only thing we have so i guess that we are not in too bad of shape as far as being in debt but hopefully our plan goes smoothly this time and we can be completely out of debt in a few years! Although we didn't really plan to buy a car at this time we are really happy with the one we got and think it will last us longer!

i just thought i would write to let people know that everything is going better in our little family! Our children are both feeling better and i am just so glad! now i just want the weather to get warmer so that we can spend more time outside! I am very excited about our anniversary! It will be our 5 year anniversary i am way excited! Our anniversary is on a thursday! Brett has thursday friday and saturday off i am very excited but we kind of have it split in two parts because of our need for babysitters! so i am planning thursday night we are going to have a candle light dinner and then brett is planning the weekend and he said he has something planned already but it's a suprize!!! i am way excited i think it sounds fun maybe on thursday morning we we'll do a fancy breakfast too!

well our life has been very crazy these past few days! Paige has been very sick but is now getting better! On Wednesday she started to have diarrhea really bad and so we got her some Gatorade! (it's a lot cheaper than pedialyte) ! At about 2:00 on Thursday morning she threw up all over me! and then she threw up again later that day and then i could'nt get her to eat very well after that so we called the doctors office and were able to get an appointment for friday luckily ( our doctor is always booked it's very hard to get an appointment so soon)! Well thursday later that day she started coughing also and we had heard on the news that rsv had spiked here so we were really glad that we had an appointment! On friday i couldn't get her to eat anything! We went to her appointment and she weighed in at 13.8 pounds that is almost a whole pound! That was not good at all and she also has an ear infection! the doctor told us to give her pedialyte instead of the gatorade because with her throwing up the pedialyte would help her better and to just give her that for the next twenty four hours! then after that we could give her bananas and toast and other things like that that would help with the diarrhea! He said that her cough just sounded like a cold right now but he did the rsv test anyways! He said to go home a they would call with the results! Well when we got home the doctors office had already called, they said that paige had tested positive for rsv but since she wasn't weazing to just bring her in for a followup appointment on monday! He also wanted to get a weight check on her on monday also! we just followed doctors orders! On Saturday my parents came over and my dad helped brett to give her a blessing! On monday we were not as lucky to get an appointment but we were able to go in for walkins after 5 and so we didn't get in to see the doctor until after six but it was okay because we were ready to wait! In the waiting room i think i counted about six babies it was just so crazy i felt so bad for these sick little babies that couldn't even tell anyone how they were feeling! there was one baby who just sound so awful you could hear him weazing throuout the whole waiting room! It very sad because since they were all walkin appointments you knew that all these little babies were sick! It was just so sad to see so many little babies and they were little! paige was the oldest at 10 months! When they weighed her she was back up to 14 pounds i was just so relived that she had gained some weight! and for the rsv he said that all we can do right now is to watch it and make sure that it doesn't get worse, if it gets worse then we will have to give her the medicine treaments through the nebulizer, but right now all we can do is treat it like a cold and use a humidifier! We don't have a humidifier though so he gave us some saline stuff to put in the nebulizer and! I am just so glad that the rsv is not worse and that she is already showing improvements it is just such an amazing blessing! I know that this is such a blessing for our family and we are all so grateful! i hope that the other family's in that waiting room yesterday can be as blessed as we have been!

well i got a calling now too! I am so excited i am going to be in the nursery i am so excited! this will make thing a lot easier with paige i won't have to go chasing her around so much! I will be in their with another person but i don't know who yet! I don't even have a book yet and i don't know which room i will be in yet! I do know they have three nursery's! so this will be very exciting! On a different note, alex's class did opening excersizes in primary and he gave the prayerand both me and brett missed it becuse paige threw up and priesthood let out way late! i was kind of sad but i know their will be more times for him to do this!

well a couple of weeks ago our ward was split! It was actually a very exciting change because our ward was so big it was very hard to get to know people! i mean there were two elders quorums! it was very rare to see the same people two weeks in a row! it was just too big! another reason i was so excited was because neither me or Brett have had a calling for a long time! On Saturday the first councilor called and wanted to meet with Brett but he wasn't home! i got so excited! i wanted to call and tell everyone that Brett was probably getting a calling! Brett said that he didn't want me to do that! they met with him on Sunday during elders quorum (our sacrament is last)! he did get a calling he is now the Sunday school president! i was so excited once again and wanted to call everyone and come on here and write about it but Brett wanted to tell our parents first and his parents don't get out until four! then he said he wanted me to wait a few days to post it on here i don't really know why but i think it's so it can kind of sink in with him! i don't think he would have said anything to anyone unless they asked! i think he is a little nervous about it! it kind of feels like a calling for me too! on a side note last week our stake president was there and told us why our sacrament is last! He said that it is the preferred block meeting for the church because if people are late they are not disrupting the spirit in sacrament meeting! They would prefer everyone to be on time but their is usually a couple people late and would rather the sacrament spirit not be disrupted! He explained it a lot better than i can but it made a lot of sense to me! anyways i am very excited about our new ward and Brett's new calling! I think Brett's excited but nervous! I know that he will do great!

Paige got her first tooth we are so excited! It is on the top left side and it is the side one not the front tooth crazy huh! so hopefully she will get her front teeth in soon so she doesn't look too funny for very long! we just noticed it today! It's just barely popping through right now though so it will be a little while longer before it's visible without really trying hard to look! She has also been saying quite a few words she says mama and dada and alex and hi! It is very exciting to hear her starting to talk and to grow up and do new things! She also figured out how to wave hi and goodbye! It's so cute because she waves with her hand facing her like she's waving to herself! we love watching her grow! she also to a few steps the other day! she doesn't really try on her own to walk but when some one stands her up she'll try so i think that we still have a least a few more weeks! Alex walked at 10 1/2 months so hopefully she'll wait at least until then! I think that i could wait until she turns one but i don't really get to much choice in the mater kids just kind of do this kind of stuff on there own time which my kids have decided that the earlier the better! i guess! It's really fun to see them do these new things, i just wish that they would give me time to enjoy them just being little instead of having to worry about what there doing at such an early age! I am glad that they aren't late though i think that would worry me more! Maybe next time our baby will be a baby for longer!

Well today we went to the doctor for paige's 9 month check-up! She is 27inches long which is about average for her height! she is only 14.7 lbs which is really small for her age but the doctor wasn't too concerned because alex was the same way and she has been eating just fine! He said to just make sure she doesn't lose her apetite and as long as she is still gaining even just a little and growing in height then at her 12 month appointment then it's probably just genetic! I don't think her apetite is going anywhere! she eats all the time! We also asked the doctor about how to get her to take a bottle and he said that it was fine if she never even had a bottle and that she could just go straight to a sippy cup! We have been able to get her to drink out of a sippy cup but we have just been giving her the soft tip ones and all she does is bite them but stuff comes out when she does and she drinks what she gets out of it, and so he said if she's drinking out of that then that would be the best direction to go even though she's just biting it! She bite's on the bottle too but she usually just spits out what ever gets in! He also gave us some other kind of formula! We tried two different brands of formula and she threw them both up! So he gave up a kind that is supposed to be good for babies who spit up a lot! it's not soy it's just supposed to be more gentle on their stomachs! So we will try it and see how this all goes! He said that it will be a slow process so i guess i have to learn patience! He said that if we really need to wean her right away it could be done quicker but it would be harder on both of us so i guess this is the eaisier way to go it's just longer! Everything else went really well at the appointment! Everyone in the waiting room thought she was adoreable! Oh i forgot she also got a shot which she didn't like one bit but she didn't cry very long after! She was a little bit fussy later but i think that she did really well!

primary update

Well we made it! Alex went to his first day of primary yesterday and things went better than anyone could have imagined! We didn't have a problem dropping him off but i wasn't really worried about that as he never had a problem when we would drop him off to nursery! So then we went to class and after priesthood meeting Brett saw his class standing in the hall waiting to go into the primary room! He said that Alex was standing right by the teacher folding his arms! He was the only one in his whole class that was folding his arms and he has a big class! their is 17 total in his class, I'm not sure how many come regularly but if they all came they would have 17! Plus there is another sunbeam class! (they are splitting our ward next week!) so i was so glad to hear that he was being so reverent! I almost cried when Brett told me but i tried really hard not to because we were in Sunday school! The other thing i was worried about was him getting out of primary and running around the whole building! well Sunday school got out before primary which is a rare thing in our ward! so we were able to get to the primary room before he got out and we even had to wait a while for him to come out! when he saw us he came straight to us! It was a very good day! Sacrament was the same as it usually is with him and we ended up way back in the gym which makes him think that he can run around! It is a lot easier when we are sitting in the benches! Some how we have managed that he hasn't ran up to the pulpit! :o)

well thing have been going pretty well for us we had a wonderful christmas we got the kids church clothes for christmas! they look so cute we took pictures of them on sunday! Yesterday was Alex's last day in nursery next sunday he will be going to primary! I can't believe he is all ready that old! i have been very nervous about how he will act in primary i am worried that he will run off! everyone tells me he will be fine but that doesn't really make me feel better! i don't think that the nervousness will go away until after i see how he does! The nursery has been taking all the kids his age in to primary at the end so they can sing and i guess to make it a little bit easier! i mostly worry about in between when they are going from class to the primary room, and between primary and sacrament meeting i just don't want him to be running around the whole church and church this next year will be at 9:00 so there will be other wards in the building for him to disturb! Yesterday after sacrament (our sacrament is last) he ran out and ran in and out of the rooms! they were empty but i worry that he will do that with other wards in them! But if there are people in the rooms or the doors are closed maybe he won't go in them! I don't really know what i can do except see what happens and try to teach him that's not what you do in church! We have already been trying to teach him reverence in the church building and in sacrament, i just don't think he has quite caught on just yet, i know he will eventually learn i just hope that it's sooner than later! I know things will work out i just hope that i don't have to deal with these kind of problems with him going to primary! i will if i have to i just hope i don't have to! i don't remember being this nervous about alex going to nursery and he did really well in nursery he didn't ever even cry once when we left he made it so easy! i just hope that primary go just as easy! I don't think that paige will be as easy as alex was she has such a differnt personality and she is a little bit of a mama's girl maybe she won't be to bad if Brett takes her to nursery! i don't think alex will have a hard time changing teachers though i think i would be really shocked if that was the problem! the thing that brett is most worried about is that there will be someone just like him and they will encourage each other to be wild! I am a little bit worried about that but not to much i'm not really sure why but i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens! His nursery teachers think he's an angel! So maybe he will be an angel in primary too!
